The Indian government has asked WhatsApp to take back its controversial new privacy policy. The Union minister of Electronics and IT has sent a letter to the CEO of WhatsApp. The Ministry stated that WhatsApp should properly re think on the new Privacy policy before implementing in India. As India has the largest user base, so WhatsApp should properly respect all the users before making any changes to the policy.
WhatsApp has been under fire for the past few weeks over its updated privacy policy and terms of service, which made a case for sharing more user information with its parent company Facebook.
WhatsApp has issued clarifications stating that the new policy would not impact the individual chats in any way and would only lead to business accounts on WhatsApp sharing more data with Facebook.
