Apple’s contract manufacturer Wistron is said to add almost 10,000 staff to their workforce. According to reports, the company is planning to shift the focus of production to India. The company is going to start its manufacturing in Narasapura, Karnataka.

The plant is supposedly situated around 70km from Bengaluru. The State has allocated 43 acres of land to the company. Out of the 10,000 openings, 70% of the jobs are reserved for the Locals as per the State’s Policies. Almost 2,000 of the total workforce is said to be appointed as on date.

“More recruitments, including freshers and experienced people, are expected soon. The company has already started trial production and hopefully, by September, they will start commercial operation,” the official stated.
The Company will primarily focus in the production of iPhone SE (2020) in its Karnataka plant. Earlier in the year, Apple already had shifted the Production of iPhone 11 to India. The Company’s other contract manufacturer ‘Foxconn’ is already working for the same in India. Apple is expected to shift almost 20% of its total production from China to India.
